What is interstate 475?

Interstate 475 (I-475) is a 21.03-mile long auxiliary Interstate Highway that bypasses the city of Toledo, Ohio, in the United States. It is a bypass route for I-75 and serves as a connector between I-75 and the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90). The interstate highway runs from I-75 south of Toledo to the Turnpike in Perrysburg Township, Ohio.

The highway, which was completed in 1971, has three lanes in each direction for most of its length and provides a high-speed route for through traffic that wishes to avoid downtown Toledo. Major points of interest near I-475 include the Toledo Botanical Garden and the University of Toledo.

I-475 was originally designed to handle a significant amount of truck traffic, and it has since become an important corridor for the transportation of goods throughout the region. The highway has a relatively low accident rate and is considered a convenient and safe alternate route for commuters and through traffic.
